Laura Polk has been teaching French since 2001, and since 2004 at Ridgewood High School, where she also advises the French National Honor Society. She continues to be amazed at the progress her students make in a year. Combined with the opportunity to open students’ minds to the perspectives of other cultures and it’s obvious to see why she teaches. “A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove… but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” –Forest E. Witcraft (Teacher, Scholar)
